Two books I wish my students would read before they come to Wheaton

It seems to me that most college students don’t think much about what it takes to be a good college student or about how to become a better college student. It also seems to me that most students—even many of the best students—would benefit from more intentionality in this area.

I had the opportunity yesterday to skim two books that I think would be very helpful to my students. I wish they’d all read these before they start at Wheaton. Here they are:

The Elements of Learning, James M. Banner and Harold C. Cannon (Yale University Press)

What the Best College Students Do, Ken Bain (Belknap/Harvard)
